| The Group activtyThe real lead activity of the Speleological Group is represented by the exploration activity, always live and unceasing during the years and with important results all the time. This activity can be summarized with the discovery, the exploration, the study and the documentation of new caves or by the continuation or already known caves.
The most searched zones by the Group are in Liguria, Tuscany and Piedmont, and it’s in these areas that the most important explorations took place. Other than the explorative activity the Group also works on other side activities that constitute the colourful and complex world of speleology. Activities such as the Ligurian Speleological Cadastre that comprehends data from all the caves on the region, the scientific research (that varies from archaeological to bio speleological studies and caves monitoring) possible also thanks to regional funds, the cooperation with Alpinsimo Giovanile (Juvenile Alpinism) of CAI and divulgation of speleology and of all the environmental issues linked to the underground world through pictures instalments and slide shows. In occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Group foundation in 2006, the Speleological Group celebrated this event by organizing the 6th Ligurian Speleological Congress and the first Speleological Movies Cinema festival (A Fil di Terra)to promote the speleological activity and underline its beautifulness. In 2008 the Group, in collaboration with Amici dell'Acquario di Genova, was able to organize the Second Festival of Speleological Documentary - A Fil di Terra. |
